Gathering, Growing, Going Minimize

At The Community Church, we believe that we are part of God’s redemptive story, a story that began long ago, and a story that will continue throughout eternity. We would love for you to join with us in this journey; in fact, we have been praying for people just like you to arrive. The good news is, this story is still being written, and there is room for your chapter!

Our Passion & Mission Minimize

Living beyond empty religion and the status quo of mediocrity, we envision a community where people gather, grow, and go with passion for Jesus and compassion for the hurting, broken, and lost — in Nashville and the world — through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Gathering – The purpose of our corporate worship services is to connect to God and one another. Community is more than a name on a letterhead or a church sign; it witnesses to our passion to know and love God and each other. (Hebrews 10:25)

Growing – Jesus has not called people to be converts to a religion, but to follow him as passionate disciples. We believe that following Jesus is a dynamic adventure from faith to faith and glory to glory. Whether you are seeking to know more about Jesus, brand new to God’s family, or a veteran believer, we believe that God has much more to reveal as you follow him. (2 Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians 4:11-16)

Going – As long as there are people outside of God’s love and grace, we will go to them with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The church was never birthed to be a social club for the spiritual elite; the church has been called and commissioned to reach out to those that are lost and in need. At The Community Church, we take that call and commission seriously, believing that God desires each of his children to be personally involved in ministry. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

Prayer: The Heartbeat of the Church

January 2009 begins a special month-long time of prayer throughout the Church of God. Our General Overseer, Dr. Raymond Culpepper has challenged each local congregation to study together P. Douglas Small's book, Prayer, The Heartbeat of the Church. Copies of this book and a 40-Day Devotional Prayer Guide will be available for purchase in January. On Wednesday, January 7, 2009 we will begin a 6 week video series on prayer during our Wednesday services. These sessions will include opportunities for corporate and personal prayer. Let's begin this new year with a renewed commitment to intercession and prayer.

"The Daniel Fast: 21 Days to Spiritual Breakthrough"

For those who would like to participate, our church is beginning 2009 with a renewed commitment to prayer, fasting and devotion to the Lord. As a part of this commitment, many will devote 21 Days (starting on January 5 or whenever you choose to begin) to a 'Daniel Fast." There is an instructional handout available in the church lobby with the details of the "Daniel Fast" for those who feel called to this ministry.
